Development‐ ICPS, Srikakulam. The program was started with a mass rally which was
flagged off by Honourable Dist. Collector at Women’s College and continued up to Surya
Mahal Junction, Srikakulam in which 200 Girl children, NGOs representatives, CHILD LINE
Staff, BIRDS Staff, Anganwadi Workers participated with holding placards and shouted
slogans about importance of girl child and protection of girls. Subsequently participants
formed human chain at Surya Mahal Junction. This activity grabbed the attention of
general public and message reached to mass on importance of girl children, issues related
to girls and responsibility of the society. In this mass rally and meeting the following
dignitaries participated and delivered the message to the public Chief Guest the
honourable Dist. Collector, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson, JJB members, Child
Welfare Committee Members, Dy DM & HO, AHTU, SSA, KGBV, DCPO ICPS, NGOs, Child
Line, AWWs & Students were participated.
Child rights convention Week (CRC): Child rights convention week celebrations were
done from 14 November to 20 November 2022. On 20‐11‐2022 we participated in

the district level celebrations organised by DW & CWA ‐ ICPS, Srikakulam. The program
was started with a mass rally which was flagged off by Secretary DLSC at Women’s College
and continued up to Surya Mahal Junction, Srikakulam in which 250 Children’s, NGOs
representatives, CHILD LINE Staff, BIRDS Staff, Anganwadi Workers participated with
holding placards and shouted slogans about importance of Children’s Day and protection
& Child rights of Children. In this rally Mrs Jayalakshmi, Secretary DLSC, JJB members,
CWC Chairperson & Members, Dy DM&HO, AHTU, SSA, KGBV, DCPO ICPS, NGOs, Child
Line, AWWs & Students were participated.
Independence Day Celebration:
On 15.08.2022 some of the project team members were participated in the
Independence Day celebration at Kotakandrapeta, I.J.Naidu Colony, Hudcocolony of
Amadalavalasa Mandal. Turaichettu veedhi, Rajev colony,Golkondarevu, of Srikakulam
urban, Segideveedhi of Pondhuru mandal and Pachoricolony and Nakkaveedi of
Narasannapeta Mandal
Other Activities:
1. Awareness Meeting of DISHA act
Awareness seminar on DISHA Canter and Law was held at Women’s college, Srikakulam.
The Disha Act provides for awarding death sentence for offences of rape and gangrape
and completing trials of such cases within 21 days. ADVERTISEMENT. The Act envisages
completion of investigation in seven days and trial in 14 working days.
2.International women’s day a meeting
In the eve of international women’s day, a meeting was organized at Bapuji Kalamandhir,
Srikakulam on 08.03.2022 by the Akira dance planet. In the meeting all women staff of
BIRDS participated and kept their views on importance of women in the nation
development. Many guests from different line departments are also participated in the
great event.
