In these celebrations we shared the following Subject matters to people:
A number of global challenges are being faced this year, including the COVID‐19
pandemic, conflicts, climate change, rising prices, and international tensions. All of this is
affecting global food security.
In India the biggest danger to our food security as it is being proposed to promote the
G.M. crops.
Still 38.7% of Indian children below 5 years of age are lack of proper growth. This is
mainly due unavailability of nutritive food. India ranking 114 place among 132 nations
th
and Bangladesh, Nepal are better performers in this aspect.
70% of school going children lack of sufficient physical growth due to the deficiency of
Proteins and Iron.
Green revolution helped us a lot in the direction of sufficient production of food grains.
But even today daily 19.5 crore people remaining without having food.
ICDS started in 1975 with the objective of taking care of children, especially below 5 years
of age and pregnant women. There are 13.4 lakh centers across the country with 25 lakh
volunteers and helpers working for the mission.
Midday meals scheme was started by Government in 1995 and benefitting 12 crore
children by providing food which helps for the proper growth of them.
Integration of ICDS, MGNREGS & Mid‐day meals scheme of school children is very crucial
to overcome malnutrition and improper growth of children below 5 years of age, school
going children. The world aims to achieve zero hunger by 2030.
World population is increasing day by day, but food productivity is not increase the same
ratio.
Climate change affected the crops. so we are losing the products.
Migration also affects the agriculture.
Most of farmers turned to commercial crops. It is also causing food scarcity.
Many farmers leaving farming because of losses in agriculture.
Many farmers selling their lands for commercial use.
The increasing of prices of food also affected the people to not getting sufficient food.
