Children, lactating mother and pregnant
women (PHP‐PCUSA)
The recent crisis in the world on COVID‐19 has made people distress, loss of jobs, and
pushed in to poverty. Hunger, sickness and deaths, among them those who are become
vulnerable are the poor, and poorest especially the children and women. The 2 wave

was the most vulnerable and more deaths have occurred made the children in the
distress.
So, BIRDS addressed this program in 50 villages on preparedness towards future effects

to encounter the 3 and 4 wave to safeguard and prevent the human losses specially to
safeguard the children and women are in the major thrust.
Identified children and women who are at the edge to the threat organized training
programs to the TOT to the duty bearer’s health workers and community leaders to safe
guard the people from Carona threat.
We have also conducted the community level orientation to take up the measures to safe
guard from spread of virus, as well as BIRDS have also made food stock points to the
vulnerable areas to distribute cooked food and dry ration for the people to escape the
hunger and sickness. BIRDS have also trained the individuals on personal hygiene and
importance of distance maintenance, frequent hand wash and mask wearing to the
community.
BIRDS has conducted the awareness programs in all 50 villages with the help of ICE
materials to the 250000 people in 50 villages. We have also spread the posters in the main
centers of the villages on Importance of Covid protocols. As our estimation this 250
thousand trained individuals have trained each one to teach one so that we have reached
to 500 thousand of people in the project.
