10. ICRISAT Study Program

ICRISAT and the University of Chicago are collaborating to study the value of forecasting
in dry land agriculture. The study will be conducted in 250 villages in two districts of
Telangana State in India and will focus on the risks posed by climate change and how
weather forecasting can guide farm decisions.

Our Own BIRDS (Bharathi integrated rural development society) Organization made
a initiate to work on a project on “Prediction of Rainfall” which enables farmers to Make
a decision to cultivate a land, choose a Crop for this project we have collaborated with
ICRISAT through University of Chicago.

Work on Mahabubnagar team (8) and Medak Team (5)
we have identified the villages which Requires to Rainfall according to ICRISAT Under
the university of Chicago.

Work on Mahabubnagar team (10) and Medak Team (7)
In Mahabubnagar region the enumerators are visited villages and then we have consulted
Sarpanch and gathered the information about total agricultural land in The village in
which The total cultivated land and uncultivated card. we have enquired that how much
land in depend on rainfall villages and how much land is depended on other sources (bore
wells, canals and Ponds)

 We had enquired what type of crops are cultivated In villages
 We had collected regular cultivated farmers through the Sarpanch of the village
