The BIRDS has been working in three districts i.e. Kurnool, Ananthapur (Andhra Pradesh State), and Mahabubnagar (Telangana State) on anti- child labour program in partnership with Plan International in India which is being partnered and supported by Human Dignity Foundation, Switzerland.

Kurnool
The Kurnool District has 3 Revenue Divisions with 54 mandals Coverage Area of the District. Poverty, Drought and Migration are the main reasons for the child became a child labour in the Society. Child Labour working sectors, Agriculture Field, Sheep rearing, Engaging in the Hotels, Petty Shops, Workshops, Construction Sector. After Intervention of the project with collaboration of Stake holders with Child Related line departments in the District. We have good rapport with Government and Civil Society Organizations in the District like ICPCs, CWC, Labour Department, Education Department, and Police Department.

Ananthapuram
In the Anantapuram District we have started anti- child labour programs with high spirits and the team work has been reflected at ground level which resulted many positive impact among the lives of most vulnerable children.

The interventions of the project providing lot of scope to the project team and develop lot of rapport with various line departments. The team has successfully utilized the opportunity and brought all the departments like DCPU, Police, SSA, Child Line and Child Welfare Committees on a common board and conducted rescue operations for withdrawing the children from the labour force.

Mahabubnagar
In Mahabubnagar district Child labor and Migration are the main reasons which is influencing on protection of child rights majorly on school dropout, child labor and child marriages.  As the district is well known for migration and as per the findings, 40% of migration is evidenced in the operational area due to following reasons.  Majority of the families belongs to below poverty line and Landless and also not much livelihood options in the villages.  Majority of the villagers thinking that agriculture is not viable as the introduction of modern technologies. That’s why we can see many children as child labor and vulnerable children in this district to add income to her parent and family.  We started this anti- child labor project in this district as eradication of child labor with the support of duty bearers and give financial support to parents, where children free from work and lack of financial support to the parents.  We are working in 160 villages of 30 mandals in entire Mahabubnagar dist.
