9. UNICEF‐MAHITA‐BIRDS Alliance for Child

                        Rights ‐ 2022


                    Introduction:
                    Alliance  for Child Rights  (ACR)  is a NGOs  network  in  Telangana  &  Andhra  Pradesh
                    implementing Engaging young people for the entitlements building the Voices of the Most
                    Marginalised  in  TS  and  AP  in  11  districts  (Mahabubnagar,  Sangareddy,  Yadadribhoniri,
                    Adilabad,  Siddipet,  Vikarabad, Kothagudem, Alluri Sitharamaraju(W.G)  ,  Vishakapatnam,
                    Nandyal & Chittoor) with the support of UNICEF. The project aims to Engaging Young people
                    and building their voices in the District and State – Dissemination of the Study ues.Findings
                    in the Districts – Children and young people interaction with Media on Children issues.

                     BIRDS Organized following activities during the 2022 year

                       1.  Mandal Level Consultation with children on child rights on 7  July in Chagalamarri

                       2.  Nandyal  District  Level  Consultation  with  Children  and  duty  bearers  on  Child
                           Rights on 30  August in Nandyal.

                       3.  Children Take Lead   Gram Panchayt Office on 11  October.

                       4.  Nandyal District Level Consultation with Children and Duty Bearers to Prepare
                           and  Submit Charter Demands of  Children on  child  rights on  7  November  in
                                                                                         th
                           Nandyal.
                       5.  State  Level  Consultation  with  Children  and  Duty  Bearers  to  Submit  Chartor
                           Demands of Children on child Rights on 15  November in Vijayawada.

                    Mandal Level Consultation with Children on Child Rights Report BIRDS organization has
                    organized Chagalamarri Mandal level consultation meeting with children on child rights
                    with the support of UNICEF, AP ARC MAHITHA at BIRDS Training center Mutyalapadu on
                    7  July 2022.

                    BIRDS Executive Director Mr. Paul Raja Rao given introduction about the Child Rights in
                    Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Status and Actions, UNICEF and Alliance for Child rights
                    program. UNICEF  is a  working for children  in international,  Child health, nutrition,
                    protection and Education. BIRDS working for children in Chagalamarri and Allagadda
                    mandal, collaboration with Alliance for child rights. BIRDS conducted awareness program
                    to the children and their parents on Child rights and child protection. Mr. Paul Raja Rao
                    created awareness on Child marriages. Child marriages are crime. Due to poverty and lack
                    of awareness parents are doing child marriages, drop outing   from the schools are one of
                    the reasons for child marriages. Parents and Presets also punished under prohibition of
                    child  marriages  act  2006.Punishment  will  2  years  imprisonment  and one lakh  fine.
                    Anyone can complaint to collector, RDO, CDPO, Village secretary through written or oral.
