BIRDS Silver Jubilee Celebrations

The BIRDS Organistaion was Registered under Societies Registration Act on 26th November 1991and Inaugurated with a very humble way to work among the poor of the poorest, Dalit, women, Children and marginal farmers. So the year 2016 is a remarkable year in the history of BIRDS as it has completed its 25th year in serving the Communities. In this connection BIRDS management Committee has decided to celebrate this year as the Silver Jubilee Year of the BIRDS. It’s also decided to celebrate this occasion from 26 – 28 November 2016 at BIRDS International Training Centre, Muthyalapadu, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh.

The well wishers and the family members of the BIRDS International, Rev. Dr. Barbara Campbell, Mr. Bill Cadington, Ms. Sue Mc Mahan, Mr. Sten Carison and Mr. Anders Carison from USA participated as the Special Guests for all these three days and shared their joy and participated enthusiastically in all the programmes. Smt. V. Sreelatha, MPDO, Chagalamarri, and Local Serpanch of Muthyalapadu village Smt. Swapna participated in this great event all these three days.

Day One: 26th November 2016 is allocated for the Celebration of the BIRDS Group of Institutions Annual Day.

Day Two: 27th November 2016 is allocated for the Farmers and Staff

Dat Three: 28th November 2017 Closing Ceremony of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Day One: 26th November 2016 is allocated for the Celebration of the BIRDS Group of Institutions Annual Day.

BIRDS’ school hosted its 7th Annual day on 26th November 2016 with a lot of enthusiasm and zeal. The Annual Day is a perfect venue for children to instill positive values, recognize their abilities and talents, through an array of entertaining programmes. The event was presided by the chief guest Mrs. Barbara Campbel. The Guest of honour on the occasion was Smt. Swapna (Sarpanch), Smt. Sreelatha (MPDO)

The function began at 10:30 am. The programme commenced by March fast and hoisting the National and School flag and with a short prayer sung by the choir group of our school followed by the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the esteemed guests, respected Correspondent, Mr. Paul Raja Rao, Principal’s, Mrs. Sindhura, Mr. Sathish. The graceful dancers of Grade 3rd & 4th presented a welcome dance.

This was followed by Welcome speech and introduction of guests by BIRDS Correspondent Mr. Paul Raja Rao. The Chief guest and Guests of honour were felicitated by the students.

Principal Mrs. Sindhura presented the annual report highlighting the achievements of the school and students. She also highlighted the growth and vision of BIRDS Education and thanked the director, Mr. Paul Raja Rao for his constant support. Then the guest of honour Mrs .Sree Latha garu spoke few words of wisdom and appreciated the school’s effort.

Subsequently Paul Raja Rao garu shared a few words on significance of woman empowerment and importance of education in the rural areas.

Primary Kids performed Mass Drill with different models like ribbon drill, stick drill etc..

High school children performed Pyramids the great efforts which as steeled everyone’s attention in the programme.

Then began the show where our talented buddies exhibited their talents on the theme of “Importance of Education”. This thematic show of talent, imagination and organization was the essence of the program. BIRDS students showed how privileged it is to be a educator. Each class danced to the tune of more than 50 songs with colorful props, depicting the value of Water, Forest and different roles played by BIRDS Children. The audience was enthralled by a colorful and very well directed dance drama. This was followed by a speech from the chief guest Barbara Campbell. They appreciated the themes of Dramas of the Annual day and school’s effort to spread the awareness.

Meritorious students of respective classes for the academic year 2015-16, quiz, essay writing, elocution competition and 20 national, International players of BIRDS School were felicitated with medals.

BIRDS School management distributed family gifts, New Year calendars and a bag which is used for home need to the parents of BIRDS School.

Along with the entertainments and talents of the BIRDS Children, management arranged provided welcome tea breakfast and lunch to all the guests, visitors, parents and the students, the total reached nearly 3000 members.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Sathish Primary (Head Master) and national anthem.

The day ended with every glittering star carrying a feeling of happiness and achievement within itself. We believe that “Celebration is an occasion for enjoyment as well as a mode to moral values, intellectual creativity, social and respectful attitude towards education”.

The amazing and colorful items of our show revealed as to how much our beloved teachers and coaches have put in their tireless efforts in making the show a grand success and we hope it would direct us to do better in future.

We express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to all our students, parents, well wishers and management of our school without whose help we would have not been in a position to exhibit this programme.

Day Two: 27th November 2016 is allocated for the Farmers and Staff

Farmers and Staff to celebrate and remember the great works and transformation taken place in their lives and communities. On this occasion nearly 3000   farmers have participated with gratitude and enthusiasm. All the staff of all the projects along with the students of the Schools participated. for this function Sri. Gangula Prathapa Reddy, the Local Predominant Political Leader (Telugu Desam Political Party In-charge) who is involved in many ways in helping the marginal farmers in and around Allagadda taluk was invited as Chief Guest. He appreciated and remembered the good works of the BIRDS in the lives of the Marginal Farmers in his Chief Guests’ Address and promised to involve in the activities for the benefit of farmers in future.

Many Farmers came forward and shared their experiences with the BIRDS for the last 25 years. They shared the joy, and the benefits received from BIRDS and they explained to the audients how the BIRDS have helped them in the process of coming out of the problems and in their lives transformation.

Many staff also shared their experiences and participation through BIRDS activities taken place for the last many years for development of the Poorest of the poor, women, children and marginal famers. I am happy to state that many former staff also participated in this occasion and shared their experiences with gratitude.

On this occasion few sports and games competitions were conducted and prizes were also distributed to the winners. Many staff has staged very good cultural programmes and entertained the audients. Camp Fire was also celebrated during the night in which all the staff participated with full joy and vigor.

Day Three: 28th November 2017 Closing Ceremony of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations

This is the day in which the Closing Ceremony of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the BIRDS was celebrated. On this occasion Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly of Allagadda, Madam Ms. Bhuma Akhila Priya participated as the Chief Guest. Dr. Thomas John, Co-ordinator, Joining Hands Against Hunger, PCUSA/India,  has presented the Special Message and has given the direction in which BIRDS is moving forward for the development of the communities in future . Rev. Philip George, PJC, Bangalore, was also participated in this great event. The following Guests of Honor has participated in this function: Sri. Eswar Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DGP), Allagadda, Sri. Dstagiri Babu, Circle Inspector of Police, Allagadda, Dr. M. Madhukar Reddy, President, BIRDS, Smt. M. Sharadamma, Treasurer, BIRDS and many distinguished guests participated in this great event. All the participants who ever attended this were presented a memento (Big Cup imprinted with Silver Jubilee emblem) and a Cotton Bag as a token of remembrance of this great event.

All the participants enjoyed the food (Breakfast, Lunch, Tea & snacks and Supper) which was served all these three days to all. Mr. V. Paul Raja Rao, Executive Director of BIRDS is man who have organized all these programmes in a very systematic and made this a great successful celebration.
